Where to start, the name from this came to me in a word given by a Canadian Prophet. She called me out about not been an arrow anymore but becoming the archer. As normal you weight the spirit behind the word and test the word (1 John 4:1 & Proverbs 30:5) As I sat in this word for hours, days and months asking and keep asking God what this means and what I should be doing, this is where I ended.
An arrow is a tool to be used by archer, it can have a great impact if used correctly. This can be for good or bad. The arrow has no choice or ability to choose the path its about to go on it simply follows the directions when the archer pulls the bow back and fires the arrow in the direction the archer has chosen.
Much like our children they are young, impressionable and will follow the path that’s lead by their parents or those around them. In a study by Arizona Christian University, they say children begin forming their worldview between 15 and 18 months of age and by the age of 13, it’s almost entirely formed. This gives us a small window in the life of the children to ensure they are understanding the world they live in and importantly how Jesus is part of this.
But we don’t want them to be mindless drones but question everything, the smartest minds (the ones with a touch of humility anyway) have all come to the realisation that Jesus is the answer, the only way to the father. We want our children to be on fire for Jesus but not to be living from someone else’s faith but have a faith of their own. Know Jesus personally and walk with him alone not following the steps of their parent, guardian or mentor.
We need to take Arrows as we all start here and turn them into archers.
Once an archer they can question, reason, discover, learn, live a life in pursuit of Jesus should they wish. If they have their owen faith and have seen the works of Jesus in their every day. It’s a lifelong lesson we all learn C.S. Lewis said in his Children’s book Narnia where Lucy was talking to Aslan “every year you grow, you will find me bigger.”
This is for me a perfect reference to our journey following Jesus. We are all walking the path either with Jesus or not. But if you are and spend any time reading the word, sitting with Jesus or flying with the Holy Spirit you will realise there is more to God than you couldn’t ever image.
This journey we are all on is about exploration, not of far distant lands but the depths to the love that can only come from Jesus Christ. To an extend we are all archers as adults with the ability to choose what we do next and were we go.
God led me on this path to be a collector or words and thoughts, to help live a heavenly lifestyle whilst amongst the struggles of earthly living. What is it like to say those words on earth as it is in heaven and what does this mean. This is the discovery we all need to journey though. So here we are, a page a website a collection of words that will help into groups.
My prayer is this is a resource and gives you the tools to continue on this path closer to God for you and your family.
